It was the quite afternoon. We had left Jageshwar with the magnificent memories. After 2km drive we stopped and I took some pictures of the Artola to Jageshwar road which is the very beautiful.
I came down the road and touched the water stream. It was very cold and clear like mineral water. There was dense forest on the other side of the stream. So I quickly came on the road and we started moving.
Road condition was not so good so we were moving slowly. We were enjoying the mountains and nature. There were few villages away from the road. Some of them were very far in the valley. I don’t know how they access the main road.
I was still thinking about the Jageshwar, suddenly Anthony bhai began to tell about Golu devta. He said, “Golu devta is the vey famous temple in whole kumanui region. Golu devta is the god of justice. The temple has thousands of the hanging bells”. He continued “there are many temples of the golu devta in the region but Chattai Golu devta is most scared one.” Now I was curious to see such type of temple. After some time Athony bhai stopped the car and said We reached the temple.
We were looking a long gallery from the temple gate. In the gallery the bells were wrapped in thousands. There are some shops outside of the temple, they were selling accessories of worship including bells. We purchased some worship material quickly and entered the temple. This was amazing campus.
After a short stroll in the temple, I came to know why this is called the temple bells. This temple known as bell temple, because there are bells and bells everywhere in the temple campus. It is such an amazing temple with thousands of bells all around. Every size of bells are hung there.
But the most interesting thing is that you will find thousand & thousands of letters hanging in the temple from devotees. I didn’t try to read any of them. I respect their belief. There was large number of newly married couples in the temple who had come to seek the blessings of their marital bliss.
Check out the video of the temple.
Some of the panoramic view of the Valley that were on the other side of the temple.
After spending some time in temple campus, We came out. Our next plan was to visit the Almora zoo so we decided to go soon.
